Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School is a pre-kindergarten through third grade co-educational, Episcopal school located on the 59-acre campus of the Washington National Cathedral in northwest Washington, D.C. The School community is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion as it celebrates and welcomes students, families, faculty, and staff of all faith; family structures; and racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Integral to Beauvoir’s early childhood education are our Life Rules of kindness, respect, responsibility, and honesty. These principles infuse every aspect of life at Beauvoir, allowing students to turn abstract concepts into concrete choices. The result is a school community that is a safe place where children enjoy learning and where the development of their character is of the utmost importance. Beauvoir’s diverse community values every individual while nurturing creative, courageous learners and building an enduring foundation for a lifelong spirit of inquiry and joy in learning.
