Fabulous High-Heel Race to Shut Down Dupont Circle Tuesday Evening

D.C.'s cross-dressing community will be celebrating three decades of the annual event.

WASHINGTON, DC — It's time for the 17th Street High Heel Race in Dupont Circle Tuesday night, and that means road closures.

Between 6:30 and 11 p.m. on Oct. 25, cars will have to avoid 17th Street NW between Riggs Place and P Street, as well as Riggs Place, R Street, Corcoran Street, Q Street and Church Street between 16th and 18th streets NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The 30th annual race celebrates the city's cross-dressers, who strut their stuff along the route.
