Fairfax Man Dies Following Motorcycle Crash In DC

D.C. Police are investigating a Saturday night motorcycle crash that fatally injured a Fairfax man.

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Major Crash Investigations Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a Saturday night motorcycle crash on Connecticut Avenue, Northwest, that left a Virginia man dead, according to a police release.

Following a preliminary investigation, detectives determined that the operator of a 1998 Buell Thunderbolt motorcycle was traveling southbound, around 11:20 p.m., in the 2300 block of Connecticut Ave., N.W. The operator failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and lost control of the motorcycle, which fell on its side. After separating from the motorcycle, the operator came to rest off of the roadway. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

The victim, who police identified as Mohammad Mohajerin, 34, of Fairfax, Virginia, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
