Fancy DC Pups Party At Humane Rescue's 'Bark Ball': PHOTOS

There were no fashion faux paws at Humane Rescue's Bark Ball, which raised over $700K for the organization.

WASHINGTON, DC — On Saturday night, pet lovers dressed their furry four-legged friends to the nines and gathered at the Washington Hilton for the 30th Annual Bark Ball to raise money for the Humane Rescue Alliance.

Over $700,000 was raised for the organization, which advocates for dogs, cats and other animals and operates pet-adoption centers and foster programs. A record-breaking 1,200 guests attended the event, including former Senators Bob (R-Kan) and Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.) and Erica May-Scherzer, wife of Nationals ace pitcher Max Scherzer.

The money raised will go towards helping “protect animals, support families, and advocate for positive change to create a world where all animals can thrive,” the animal welfare group said.
