Fatal Shooting Arrest Made In Deanwood: DC Police
D.C. homicide detectives made an arrest Friday in the early morning shooting of a Northeast man.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a suspect Friday in an early morning fatal shooting in Deanwood, according to a police release. Police identified the victim as 49-year-old Stephen Magruder of Northeast.
Officers from the Sixth District responded around 12:43 a.m, to the 700 block of 51st Street, N.E., for the report of a shooting. They found Magruder inside a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS determined he show no signs consistent with life and transported him later to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
MPD arrested Stephon Williams, 29, of no fixed address, and charged him with first degree murder while armed. Following a preliminary investigation, detectives determined the offense was domestic in nature.
