Fatal Shooting In Carver/Langston Area Investigated By DC Police

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of 45-year-old Junior Johnson of Southwest on Monday afternoon in the Carver/Langston area, according to a police release.

Police found Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds after being called to the 1600 block of Benning Road, Northeast around 3:17 p.m. for the report of a shooting.

D.C. Fire and EMS transported Johnson to the hospital for treatment, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he died, according to police.

Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may be submitted via the department's text tip line by texting a message to 50411.
