Update: Fatal Shooting In Deanwood Investigated By Police
D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Northeast man Thursday in Deanwood.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Thursday morning in Deanwood, according to a police release. MPD identified the deceased victim as 32 year-old Kevin Redd, of Northeast.
Around 1:50 a.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to the rear of a residence in the 4700 block of Jay Street, N.E., for the report of the sounds of gunshots. They found Redd suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported him to a nearby hospital, but all life saving efforts failed and Redd was pronounced dead.
