Fatal Shooting In Northeast DC Under Investigation: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigation a fatal shooting that took place Wednesday night in the Carver/Langston area, according to a police release. Police identified the deceased victim as Eugene Anthony Hickson, 30, of no fixed address.

Around 9:56 p.m., officers from the Fifth District responded to the report of the sound of gunshotsin the 1700 block of Benning Road, N.E. They found Hickson unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Hickson to a nearby hospital for treatment, but all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
