Fatal Shooting Of Northwest Man Investigated: DC Police
D.C. Police are investigation the fatal shooting of a Northwest man Monday in the Truxton Circle area.
WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday morning in Truxton Circle, according to a police release.
Officers from the Third District responded around 10:26 p.m., to the report of a shooting in the 100 block of Q Street, N.W. They found an unconscious male suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but all life-saving effort failed and he was pronounced dead.
MPD identified the decedent as Stanley Dawkins, 38, of Northwest.
