Fatal Shooting Of Southeast Man Investigated By DC Homicide Detectives

D.C. homicide detectives are looking for the person who shot and killed 24-year-old Delonte Williams of Southeast​ early Wednesday.

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting early Wednesday of 24-year-old Delonte Williams of Southeast, according to a police release.

Williams was found in the vestibule of a building in the 5300 block of Astor Place, Southeast by officers from the Metropolitan Police District's Sixth District. They had been called to the area around 1 a.m. for the report of a shooting.

Emergency medical personnel examined Williams, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, and determined that he had died. DC. Fire and EMS later transported his body to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may be submitted via the department's text tip line by texting a message to 50411.
