Fatal Shooting Of Southeast Man Under Investigation

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of a Southeast man Wednesday in the Sursum Corda area, according to a police report.

Around 12:27 p.m., officers from the Third District were dispatched to the 200 block of New York Avenue, N.W., for the report of a shooting. They found an unconscious male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS was called to the scene. After an examination, it was determined the victim showed no signs consistent with life and he was pronounced dead. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Officer.

MPD identified the victim as Louis Kingsbury, 35, of Southeast.
