Fatal Shooting Of Southeast Man Under Investigation: Police
Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Southeast man in the Fairlawn area on Feb. 22.
WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Feb. 20 in the Fairlawn neighborhood, according to a police release.
On Thursday, Feb. 20, around 1:16 p.m., officers from the Sixth Districts were dispatched to the 1600 block of 18th Street, S.E., for a welfare check on an individual. Arriving on the scene, officers found an adult male inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS personnel examined the victim and found no signs of life. The decedent, identified as Bryan Tate Jr., 37, of Southeast, was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
