Fatal Southwest DC Shooting Kills 1

George Denny Jr., 46, of DC was pronounced dead after he was shot multiple times shortly after midnight Wednesday.

WASHINGTON, DC — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Southwest DC early Wednesday morning, following Fourth of July celebrations.

At about 12:16 a.m. July 5, police were called to the unit block of Galveston Street, SW., for the report of a shooting. Police located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in front of a home in the area.

The man — later identified as George Denny Jr., 46, of Southwest, DC — was transported to an area hospital where all life-saving efforts failed, police said.

Police say they're looking for a black male with a light complexion in a white shirt and blue jeans in connection with the homicide.
