Food Truck Catches Fire on George Washington University Campus; 3 Injured [PHOTOS]

A food truck called "The Falafel Bus" erupted in flames in D.C. on Wednesday afternoon.

WASHINGTON, DC — Three people were burned and had to be hospitalized after a food truck on the George Washington University campus caught fire on Wednesday.

D.C. Fire and EMS reported on Twitter at 2:10 p.m. that a food truck fire had broken out near the intersection of 21st and H Streets NW, and "at least 3 burned patients will be transposed from the scene."

The location is the site of many food trucks that serve people in the area near Gelman Library on the GW campus. Photos shared on social media show a food truck called "The Falafel Bus" engulfed in flames and smoke, and other food trucks keeping their distance.

Roads near the fire were shut down until firefighters could get a handle on the blaze. Hundreds of bystanders stood nearby and watched the scene unfold.
