Free Coffee As Gregorys Opens 4th DC Location

WASHINGTON, DC — You can get free coffee if you don a pair of signature Gregorys Coffee glasses for a free fresh brew this week to celebrate the Dec. 5 opening of its fourth Washington, D.C., location at 1101 Connecticut Avenue NW. The chain opened its first D.C. store last fall.

To celebrate the latest 1,200-square foot outpost and to thank D.C.’s growing customer base, patrons will enjoy a free 12-ounce drink (including drip coffee, cold brew, espresso, cortados, cappuccinos and lattes) on Wednesday, Dec. 5, followed by freebies and treats for the rest of the week.

Java lovers who snag a pair of Gregs glasses — available at the Farragut North, Farragut West and Dupont Metro stations — Thursday and Friday, Dec. 6 and 7, will also receive a free 12-ounce drink and can return throughout the week to continue redeeming. And, on Dec. 6, guests can gather in the new space to watch a latte art throwdown as baristas from across the city compete for a cash prize.

In addition to the D.C. launch activities, Gregorys is also prepping new food items to debut later in December, including gluten-free matcha doughnuts, paleo brownies and a vegan breakfast sandwich, the company said in a press release.

Known for its coffee of the day, Gregorys sources and roasts single-origin coffees from across the world, like the Ethiopian Abalulessa with notes of blueberry, bubblegum and milk chocolate and the Santa Martha from Mexico, with tastes of plum, cocoa and cranberry.

“In the Gregorys family, we consider D.C. to be our second home, our HQ2, if you will,” said founder and CEO Gregory Zamfotis in a news release. “With this newest location, we’re expanding and investing in the local community.”
