WASHINGTON, DC — Tickets to a surprise Green Day concert at the 9:30 Club in D.C. went on sale Sept. 9, and in a flash, they were gone.
Now if you want to go to the Oct. 3 concert, you'd either better know somebody or pay big bucks for them. One seller is listing two tickets on eBay for a Buy It Now price of $999. Bidding was already up to $152.50 for the tickets with three days and eight hours remaining as of Monday morning.
The punk rock legends announced a new tour to promote their new album, "Revolution Radio," and D.C.'s famous rock club will get to host the wildly popular band on Oct. 3. That show will take place four days before the release of the album.

"Produced by Green Day and recorded in Oakland, Revolution Radio is a potent 12-track blitz of angst-ridden anthems that unites Green Day's fully formed stylistic approach with lyrical themes that address the complexities and uncertainties of modern day existence," the band said in its announcement. "Musically, the album is raw, visceral, and fearless — solidifying the band's reign as one of the leading voices in rock music. Inspired by recent events, the first single 'Bang Bang' marks a welcome return from a band with more to say than ever."
Green Day was formed in 1986 and includes vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, drummer Tre Cool and guitarist Jason White. The band broke into the mainstream with their 1994 smash hit record Dookie, and followed it up with huge successes in their next three albums: Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning.
