Greenbelt Man Killed In Petworth Shooting: DC Police
Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Tuesday morning in the Petworth area.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of a Greenbelt, Maryland man in the Petworth area on Tuesday morning, according a police release. MPD identified the deceased victim as 30-year-old Nurudeen Thomas.
Around 5:04 a.m., officers from the Fourth District responded to the 4100 block of 14th Street, N.W., for the report of a shooting. They found Thomas suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Thomas to a nearby hospital for treatment, but all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
