Here's How Much Money You Need To Be 'Rich' In DC

A new report shows just how high our cost of living has become in the D.C. area.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Do you think you're rich? If you live in D.C., not so fast -- the amount of money you'd have to make annually to be considered wealthy is insanely high, according to a new report.

Business Insider examined 42 cities in the United States and determined what you would need to make in order to be in the top 20 percent of income earners in that city, which would be considered upper-income or rich.

You'd have to make more than $191,686 each year to be considered rich in D.C., the report claims. And to be among the city's top 1 percent, you'd have to make $544,719.
