Herndon Police Investigate 2 Commercial Burglaries

Officers from the Herndon Police Department are investigating the burglaries of two local businesses in the last week.

HERNDON, VA -- The Herndon Police Department is investigating a pair of commercial robberies that took place over the last week, according to the weekly crime report.

The first incident occurred Wednesday, Jan. 29, shortly after midnight, when an individual entered a business in the 13000 block of Worldgate Drive, opened a safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money. The individual left the business through the front door, leaving no signs of forced entry.

The second commercial burglary happened sometime between 6 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 1, and 10 a.m., on Sunday, Feb. 2. An individual entered a business in the 900 block of Herndon Parkway and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

Both commercial burglary cases remain under investigation.

During the week of Jan. 27-Feb. 2, Town of Herndon officers issued 148 traffic summons, including zero for driving while intoxicated, five for driving with no operators license, and one for driving on a suspended license.

There were seven reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during the week. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
