Hillary Clinton Scheduled to Make Public Appearance in DC Friday

It could be her first public event since she was videotaped nearly collapsing on Sept. 11.

WASHINGTON, DC — Hillary Clinton's recent pneumonia diagnosis has resulted in tremendous concern about her well-being, but the Democratic presidential nominee plans to get right back into campaigning with an event here in Washington, D.C. — an event that could be her first public appearance since she fell ill at the Sept. 11 commemoration ceremony in New York.

Clinton was scheduled to appear on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Sept. 14 but cancelled that appearance after the incident on Sept. 11. However, Clinton plans to address the Black Women's Agenda Symposium in D.C. on Friday, Sept. 16, according to a statement from the organization.

"The Black Women's Agenda, Inc.'s (BWA) 39th Annual Symposium Workshop & Awards Luncheon features a power-packed program that will inspire and empower women to exert their influence in areas of critical importance to their families and communities," reads the statement. "Democratic Presidential Nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton will also address participants in the morning workshop."

She also has a scheduled appearance Thursday, Sept. 15 at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Annual Awards Gala, but there is currently no indication of whether she will attend that event.

Clinton sparked a firestorm of speculation after she abruptly left the 9/11 event in New York and was captured on video stumbling to her vehicle, appearing to go almost to her knees. Her opponents have long been spreading rumors that she is in ill health, but the campaign said that she had pneumonia and was recovering well. She has promised to release detailed health records soon.

The incident caused her to cancel upcoming events and go to her home in Chappaqua, New York, to rest and recuperate.

Health issues have become a major sticking point for the campaign. Her opponent, Republican nominee Donald Trump, has pledged to release his own health records soon.
