Homicide Suspect Charged In 2019 Fatal Shooting In Petworth

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives charged a suspect with first degree murder in connection with the 2019 fatal shooting of a homeless man in Petworth, according to a police release.

On Saturday, June 8, 2019, around 12:58 a.m., officers from the Fourth District responded to the 800 Block of Crittenden Street, N.W. Arriving on the scene, officers found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. EMS determined that that victim displayed no signs of life. He was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The decedent was identified at Bryant McClain, 46, of no fixed address.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Davon Patterson, 29, of Northwest, on Friday, March 13, and charged him with first degree murder while armed (premeditated).
