Hour-By-Hour Forecast Of Sunday, Memorial Day In NoVA, DC
The National Weather Service's estimate of rain chances, and temperatures for DC and northern Virginia, broken down hour by hour.

WASHINGTON, DC — With outdoor plans for Memorial Day weekend from veterans ceremonies and parades to barbecues and the beach, the weather forecast is key. If you have outdoor plans on Sunday and Monday in the Washington, D.C., region, here is an updated hour-by-hour forecast, which includes the temperature and chance for rain both days.
The sun will largely be absent over the next week, with strong chances of thunderstorms by Sunday afternoon through the evening, but Memorial Day appears to be cloudy with only a 20 percent chance of rain.
On Sunday showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, says the National Weather Service. Expect cloudy skies with a high near 85. Rain chances are 60 percent. Totals between a quarter and a half of an inch of rain are possible.

Rain chances remain at 60 percent Sunday night with showers and thunderstorms likely before 8 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, up to three-quarters of an inch is possible. Look for a low around 66.

Sunday will be humid with storms popping up by the afternoon, with frequent cloud to ground lightning likely, warns The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang. "You should make your way inside as soon as one of these cells develops near your location, as the amount of lightning activity in these storms will make it extra dangerous to be outside," the Post says.
On Memorial Day the weather service predicts a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Skies will be cloudy, with a high near 80.
