Black Lives Matter Heckles James Comey At Howard University (Video)

Comey, who was fired as FBI director by President Trump earlier this year, spoke at Howard University's convocation Friday.

WASHINGTON, DC — Former FBI Director James Comey got a rude welcome to Howard University Friday during his keynote address in a rare public appearance since his controversial firing by President Trump earlier this year.

Comey, who captivated the nation when he testified before the Senate shortly after Trump's firing in the wake of his investigation into Russian collusion, was speaking at Howard University's convocation when students began protesting him, according to reports on social media.

Comey was interrupted by a group of demonstrators at the back of the auditorium, according to an NBC Washington report. As he took the podium, a group of people rose and began to sing, "We shall not be moved" and chanted slogans like "no justice, no peace."

Comey was silent during the protest and then asked the group to give him a chance to speak, but the group reportedly ignored him. Another group chanted, "Let him speak," NBC Washington reported.
