Huge Fire Destroys District Yacht Club [VIDEO]

The building was declared a total loss after the blaze erupted in the 1400 block of Water Street SE early Monday morning.

WASHINGTON, DC — A huge fire at the District Yacht Club early Monday morning has resulted in a total loss of the building.

Firefighters responded to a fire in the 1400 block of Water Street SE shortly after 3 a.m. They found a large wooden structure that was "fully involved," and were able to knock down the fire with some assistance from fireboats, D.C. Fire and EMS tweeted just before 4 a.m.

No injuries were reported, but the building ended up being a total loss. The area was isolated, making it difficult to get adequate water supply to fight the fire, D.C. Fire and EMS reported.
