Huge Fire Erupts In Columbia Heights (Video)
The two-alarm fire displaced a family of five.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A massive blaze gutted rowhomes in Columbia Heights in Northwest D.C., displacing multiple residents. Video of the fire is embedded below.
Authorities are investigating what caused the fire. Working smoke detectors alerted a family of five who lived inside and were able to flee the building, according to a tweet by D.C. Fire and EMS.
The two-alarm fire broke out early Monday morning. It was reported on the rear porches of two rowhouses that extended inside and into the attics.
