A D.C. councilmember has promised to get authorities to fix it immediately.
WASHINGTON, DC — A large hole has opened up near a playground in Northwest D.C., and a local D.C. councilmember is promising to get D.C. authorities on it as soon as possible.
Twitter user Yolanda Young reported a "dangerous, giant hole next to a housing development and playground" Sunday evening on the corner of 1st and K streets Northwest, which is a few blocks from Union Station.
D.C. Ward 5 Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie said he was alerting the D.C. Department of Public Works and the Department of Transportation to look into it, and promised that his staff would follow up as well.
