Huge Naked Woman Coming To National Mall In DC: Report
A 45-foot-tall woman weighing 16,000 pounds may be standing next to the Washington Monument next month.

WASHINGTON, DC — A gigantic naked woman weighing 16,000 pounds may loom over the National Mall for four months in the coming weeks, according to a report.
The Washington Post reports that activists may erect a 45-foot-tall statue of a nude woman standing in a yoga pose facing the White House from the Washington Monument. It would symbolize confident womanhood and be part of the annual "Catharsis on the Mall" festival in November, an event that has been likened to "Burning Man" in Nevada.
The report quoted National Park Service spokesman Matt Litterst, who said that the agency is reviewing a permit for the statue, while noting that such sculptures are certainly allowable on National Mall grounds. The NPS will review the permit based on the content of the message and whether it is in the best interest of the park itself.

The statue is called R-Evolution. “We need to show women just being in their bodies, just being humans, as an antidote of the constant sexualization of the women's body, the constant dehumanization,” the artist, Marco Cochrane, said according to the report.
