Huge Party In DC For Ben's Chili Bowl's 60th Anniversary
Police are shutting down U Street all day Wednesday for the block party.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The D.C. food scene has certainly exploded in recent years, but no matter what hot new restaurant opens up in town, Ben's Chili Bowl is still the District's most famous eatery. And to celebrate its 60th anniversary on Wednesday, U Street is getting shut down for a huge block party.
From 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., police will shut down U Street between 11th and 13th streets for the block party.
The party officially lasts from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., and then it will continue at 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Theater with Ben's Chili Bowl's 60th Anniversary Celebration Gala, according to Popville. All proceeds will go to the Ben's Chili Bowl Foundation, which gives back to local neighborhoods.
