Inauguration Day 2017: What's Open, What's Closed in DC
Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20 will bring a lot of people in the area, and that will result in a disruption to normal schedules.

WASHINGTON, DC — Inauguration Day will soon be upon us, and it creates a unique challenge for the D.C. area: should government buildings and services stay open on the big day, or treat it like a holiday?
Here's a breakdown of what will be open in the District on Inauguration Day 2017 and what will be closed as huge crowds converge on the National Mall.
The D.C. Department of Human Resources states on its website that Inauguration Day will be recognized as a legal public holiday, and will be considered a day off for employees.

The Department of Parks and Recreation hasn't announced anything related to Inauguration Day except for the closure of the Dunbar Aquatic Center at 101 N Street NW, so all other facilities should be open.
Smithsonian museums will be open on Inauguration Day and will welcome visitors during normal hours on Jan. 20, except for the National Museum of the American Indian and the Renwick Gallery. The Smithsonian Castle and the National Museum of American History will be opening early at 8:30 a.m.
