Insane AirBNB Prices in DC for Inauguration Weekend

One Capitol Hill rowhome will cost you nearly $17,000 to stay for three nights that weekend.

WASHINGTON, DC — If you're looking to grab a place to crash in Washington, D.C. through AirBNB over the Inauguration Weekend, get ready for some sticker shock. The average price tag for an AirBNB listing in the District on the weekend of Jan. 20 is in excess of $1,000 -- and that's per night.

Inauguration Day is the hottest ticket in town as Donald Trump will be sworn in as president in what will sure to be an action-packed weekend, with thousands upon thousands of people coming not only to watch the ceremony, but to join in protesting it.

The average AirBNB listing was $1,016 per night for a D.C. room booked from Jan. 19-22 as of Dec. 23, coming to a total price tag of more than $3,000 on average to swing in to town the night before the inauguration, and then head back home on Sunday.

Which listing is the most expensive? A 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom Capitol Hill rowhome a few blocks from the Capitol where the ceremony will take place is going for $4,500 per night on AirBNB's website. That means a three-night stay, along with the cleaning fee, service fee and occupancy taxes, would run you an incredible $16,688.
