Wanted: Intent To Kill Charge Filed Against Northeast Man
D.C. Police are looking for a Northeast man in connection with a May 2 shooting in the Buena Vista area.
WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Seventh District are asking the public's help in locating a suspect in connection with an assault with intent to kill offense that took place May 2 in the Buena Vista area, according to a police release.
Around 2:31 p.m., officers from the Seventh District responded to the 3200 block of 23rd Street, S.E., for the report of the sound of gunshots. They discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
MPD identified the suspect as Rodney Leon Patterson Jr., 43, of Northeast. He is wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, which charges him with assault with intent to kill (gun). Police say Patterson should be considered armed and dangerous.
