Irish Tavern Replaces Mourayo Greek Restaurant In DuPont Circle
An Irish tavern called Across The Pond Restaurant & Pub just opened in Dupont Circle in the former Mourayo Greek Restaurant spot.

WASHINGTON, DC — An Irish tavern called Across The Pond Restaurant & Pub just opened in Dupont Circle in the former Mourayo Greek Restaurant spot, which closed after 13 years this May.
According to it's website, Across The Pond is run by "three industry veterans who wanted to create a place for locals and visitors alike to enjoy good food and drink and welcoming service."
Across The Pond will serve a variety of Irish and American fare, including appetizers like crab balls, battered sausages and traditional nachos. Sandwiches like steak 'n cheese and burgers will also be on tap, as well as entrees including fish 'n chips, corned beef and cabbage, crab cakes and beef stew.

The pub will also serve brunch with a two hour bottomless mimosa special from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Patrons can choose from corn beef hash, steak and eggs, crab benedict and more.
The new Irish tavern has big steps to fill. Mourayo was a beloved eatery known for it's Santorini-region fare, such as fresh seafood, lamb over orzo and Soutzouzakia.

Check out Across The Pond at 1732 Connecticut Ave. NW, open 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday.
