Jaw-Dropping Lightning Photos From The DC Area Will Amaze

You can be forgiven for not really wanting to thinking about lightning right now if you're a Washington Capitals fan, as lightning struck the region right around the same time as the Tampa Bay Lightning were striking the net at Capital One Arena. But these photos of the lightning storm that rolled through the region are too good to ignore.

Numerous photos of the lightning show the area in a totally different light (literally), and we've compiled some of the best below.

The weather will remain rainy and cloudy for the next week, although the lightning storms should be done for the most part after two straight nights of it.
