Jonathan Pryce of HBO's 'Game of Thrones' to Portray Shylock at the Kennedy Center

The actor who played the "High Sparrow" will be the face of legendary Shakespeare villain Shylock.

Big news, D.C.-area "Game of Thrones" fans: the High Sparrow is coming to the District.

Jonathan Pryce, the actor behind the manipulative religious leader in the popular HBO fantasy drama, is coming to the Kennedy Center to play another fictional literary villain.

He'll be starring in William Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice" later this month portraying Shylock, the Venetian Jewish moneylender who serves as the play's main antagonist.

"This new production of Shakespeare's play dramatizes competing claims of tolerance and intolerance, religious law and civil society, justice and mercy," according to the play's description on the Kennedy Center's website.

The performance will run from Wednesday, July 27 until Saturday, July 30. Tickets start at $69 and the play will run at the Eisenhower Theater.
