Comptroller Peter Franchot touts Causey's experience and dedication to improving Baltimore County's school system.

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot formally endorsed Kathleen Causey for election to the Board of Education of Baltimore County for the Third Councilmanic District. The Comptroller backed Causey’s candidacy on Wednesday night at the Franchot Reception at 7 West in Towson, Md.
“Kathleen Causey’s mission is clear: to provide students, their families, and all of Baltimore County’s stakeholders with a world-class, 21st century public education system built on integrity and transparency,” said Comptroller Franchot. “Thank you, on behalf of Maryland, for your outstanding work on the Board. Once elected, I know that you will continue to advocate for what is right and make the system work better for students, families, teachers and residents.”
Causey is an incumbent candidate in the historic, non-partisan, Baltimore County Board of Education election. She currently holds the position, having been appointed by Gov. Larry Hogan in July 2015 after encouragement from community leaders to accept her application.

Before her appointment, Causey supported opening the Board selection process to the public via the ballot box, believing that citizens should have a greater voice in deciding what is best for students.
“There is no more important job in life than providing all of our young people with the education and care they need and deserve. As I’ve demonstrated throughout my life and tenure on the Board, I will always invest the hard work, thought, and time to do what is right and just for our kids, their teachers, and all of our families,” Causey said. “I am absolutely committed to making our school system one of the very best in the nation, both in terms of classroom instruction and boardroom decision-making.”
