Knife Assault Suspect Sought In Sunday Domestic Altercation

D.C. Police detectives are asking the public's help in tracking down a suspect in a knife assault that took place early Sunday morning.

Metropolitan Police Department detectives are asking the public's help in locating a man wanted in connection to an Assault with Intent to Kill while Armed (Knife) offense that took place on Sunday. The suspect has been identified as Patrick Roberts Jr., 24, according to a police release.

At about 5:30 a.m., Roberts was in a verbal altercation with the victim inside a residence in the 4800 block of East Capitol St., N.E. Roberts allegedly assaulted the victim, brandished a knife and stabbed the victim, according to the release. Roberts fled the scene in a vehicle and the victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Following an investigation, detectives said the altercation was domestic in nature.

Police believe Roberts is occupying a Toyota Rav 4 sports utility vehicle with the Maryland tag of 6CD8581. He is wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Assault with Intent to Kill while Armed.

MPD is asking anyone who can locate Roberts or has knowledge of the incident not to take action. Instead, they should call police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
