Labor Day 2017: What's Open, Closed In DC
Labor Day means one last hurrah for cookouts and other summer activities. It also means lots of closures.

Labor Day is right around the corner -- do you have any cookout plans for the unofficial last day of summer? Will you be doing cartwheels (or shedding tears) now that the kids are finally going back to school?
Whatever you're doing, keep in mind that a lot of facilities won't be open on Monday, Sept. 4. Here's a breakdown of what's open and what's closed in D.C.
All D.C. government offices: Closed

DMV: Closed
Libraries: Closed

Parks & Rec: All offices, centers, and camps closed, but grounds open.
Parking: Not enforced.
Public schools: Closed
Metro: The system will open at 8 a.m. and close at 11 p.m., with trains operating on a Sunday schedule. "Passengers are advised of scheduled rebuilding on the Red, Orange, Silver and Blue lines," Metro says on their website. "Off-peak fares will be in effect all day, and parking will be free at all Metrorail parking facilities."
Museums: All museums, including the National Zoo, Smithsonian Castle, National Portrait Gallery, African American History and Culture Museum, American History Museum, Hirshhorn Museum, and Natural History Museum will be open. Check here for hours.
