Lincoln Heights Homicide Investigated By DC Police

Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a Tuesday night fatal shooting in the Lincoln Heights area.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred Tuesday night in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood, according to a police release.

Around 9:17 p.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to the 300 block of 50th St., N.E., for the sound of gunshots. They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. After examining the man, D.C. Fire and EMS determined that he had died. FEMS later transported him to the Office 0f the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police identified the man as James Edward Brisbon, 43, of Southeast.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this homicide to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
