Local Hero Contest In DC Area Held By Kaiyo Furniture Marketplace

Kaiyo will select winners of its local hero contest on Aug. 31. Winners will receive gift cards for Kaiyo home-furnishings.

WASHINGTON, DC — Kaiyo, an online marketplace for used furniture, has launched its first-ever Local Hero Contest in the Washington, D.C., area.

Held in the D.C. area, along with Philadelphia and New York City, Kaiyo said local heroes can include front-line healthcare professionals, non-profit organizers, firefighters, teachers, community leaders and others.

Until Aug. 19, the public can nominate a deserving local hero in the D.C. area via an online entry form.

Kaiyo will select a total of three winners for D.C. and the other two metro areas. Winners will receive Kaiyo gift cards for sustainable home-furnishings, ranging from $250 for second and third place winners to $5,000 for the first-place winner. Winners will be announced on Aug. 31.

Kaiyo’s online marketplace features gently-used items from top brands such as Restoration Hardware, West Elm, Room and Board, Design Within Reach and more. Kaiyo provides delivery service within the D.C. area.
