Man Charged In Northeast Sexual Abuse Offenses: DC Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Sexual Assault Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department made an arrest in connection with a series of sexual abuse offenses that occurred between 10:59 a.m. and 2:18 p.m. Friday in Northwest, according to a police release.

The first incident occurred in the 400 block of Bryant Street, N.W., when a man engaged in unwanted sexual contact with three victims before fleeing the scene.

In the second incident, the man tried to engage the victim in unwanted sexual contact in the 600 block of Florida Avenue, N.W. He then assaulted the victim before leaving the scene. The victim received treatment on the scene for non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested Kevin Lyles, of no fixed address, and charged him with misdemeanor sexual abuse, attempt to commit misdemeanor sexual abuse, and simple assault.
