Man Dies 3 Weeks After Shooting At Southeast Housing Complex: Police

Carl Hardy, 24, died from his injuries three weeks after he was shot outside the Potomac Gardens housing complex, police said.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Northeast Washington man who was shot three weeks ago outside the Potomac Gardens housing complex has died from his injuries, police said.

Carl Hardy, 24, was shot in the 1200 block of I St. SE shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10. Police said he suffered a gunshot wound to the back and transported him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Hardy died in the hospital on Sunday, Oct. 1.

Police released surveillance video that shows several suspects in the case. The video shows three people jump out of a black car stopped in front of the apartment complex. The video does not capture the shooting.

Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at202-727-9099.
