Man Found Shot On Metro Bus In Petworth Dies From His Injuries: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Anthony Arter of Northwest, who was found shot early Friday morning on a Metro bus in the Petworth area, according to a police release.

Arter was found suffering from gunshot wounds on a bus in the 3700 block of 14th Street, Northwest. Officers from the Fourth District responded the the area around 1:43 a.m. for the report of a shooting.

D.C. Fire and EMS took Arter to a nearby hospital for treatment, but he later succumbed to his injuries and died.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
