Lewd Behavior At Hotel Angers DC Resident: Report
A D.C. resident claims that a man at the Kimpton Carlyle Hotel opened his blinds and touched himself for "no less than 10 minutes."

WASHINGTON, DC -- A Dupont Circle resident witnessed a guest at the Kimpton Carlyle Hotel across the street open his blinds and touch himself for "no less than 10 minutes" last week, according to a report.
The man displayed himself for all the world to see on Wednesday, and the resident was certain that it was "deliberate action on this man's part, intended to intimidate," DCist reported.
The resident further claimed that the hotel talked to the guest but took no action to remove him.

Commenters were almost complete unsympathetic to the resident.
The majority questioned the resident's claim that the person touched himself for 10 minutes and whether it was actually predatory behavior rather than simply being an "exhibitionist." Another commenter dismissed the account and defended the hotel, saying that a lot of "weird things happen in hotels and they can't have a policy for each one."

One commenter even questioned whether the resident broke the law by taking the person's picture and sending it to the police. And others suggested the resident even welcomed the behavior by not closing the blinds.
One commenter came to the resident's defense, however.
"I agree that the hotel should have thrown the guest out," wrote Magnolia_virginiana. "Kimpton lauds itself as a family-friendly business. I'd be writing a letter to corporate about the manager's inaction."
