Man Spraypaints 'Black Lives Matter' on Donald Trump's New DC Hotel [VIDEO]

The man fled after spraypainting the message on the Republican presidential candidate's newly opened Trump International Hotel.

WASHINGTON, DC — A man was videotaped on Twitter spraypainting the words "Black Lives Matter" on the newly opened Trump International Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. this weekend.

A video posted to the Twitter account of @AngryBlkManDC on Oct. 1 shows a man clad in a yellow shirt and black pants spraypainting the message just outside the main entrance to the building. Another spraypainted message nearby isn't captured fully by the cameraman, but appears to say "No Justice No Peace."

Passersby urge him to leave shortly after writing the message.

"Dude you need to go, they're calling the cops on you," a woman could be heard saying off-camera. Someone else yells "black lives matter" as the man quickly leaves and heads across the street.

Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for president, is largely seen as a racially divisive candidate in the black community. Trump has made overtures to the community by telling them they have nothing else to lose by voting for him, but it appears not to be swaying African-Americans: in a recent poll in Michigan, Trump pulled 0 percent of the vote in Detroit despite making his plea to black voters there.

The Trump International Hotel had a "soft opening" last month with only a handful protesters showing up, and no sign of guests checking in to the lavish new hotel just blocks away from the White House.
