Man Wanted In Sexual Abuse Offense Caught On Video: Police Report

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Sexual Assault Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department are asking the public's help in identifying a man they say committed a sexual abuse and robbery offense on Dec. 26, in the Lanier Heights area, according to a police release.

Around 8:30 p.m., the man approached the victim inside a residential building in the 1700 block of Columbia Road, Northwest. He then engaged the victim in unwanted sexual contact while stealing the victim's property. The man then fled the scene, according to police.

MPD released photos and video of the man captured on a nearby surveillance camera. Police ask anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the man in the photos or video to call 202-727-9099 or send a text message to 50411.
