Mayor Muriel E. Bowser's swearing-in ceremony will bring about parking restrictions and a road closure. Motorists may encounter delays.

WASHINGTON, DC — Muriel E. Bowser on Wednesday will be sworn in as the District's seventh elected mayor, making her the first woman to serve a second term.
The ceremony, which started at 9:30 a.m., has brought about parking restrictions and a road closure. Motorists may encounter delays and should consider alternate routes, District officials said.
The following street will be closed and posted as Emergency No Parking until 6 p.m. Wednesday:

- L Street, NW between 7th Street, NW and 9th Street, NW
Four more streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking until 6 p.m. Wednesday. They are:
- West curb of the 1000 and 1100 block of 7th St., NW
- East curb of the 1000 and 1100 block of 9th St., NW
- North curb of the 900 block of K St., NW
- North curb of the 600 block of K St., NW
District officials say all vehicles that are parked in violation of the no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
