WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Justin Johnson of Temple Hills, Maryland on Tuesday morning, according to a police release.

Officers found Johnson in the 2200 block of Savannah Terrace, Southeast, after being summoned to the area around 11:24 a.m., for the report of a shooting.

D.C. Fire and EMS examined Johnson, who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, and determined that he had died from his injuries. He was later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may be submitted via the department's text tip line by texting a message to 50411.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
