MD Man, 26, Fatally Shot Saturday Near Ivy City: DC Police

D.C. police found 26-year-old John Jones of Temple Hills, Maryland suffering from gunshot wounds early Saturday morning near Ivy City.

WASHINGTON, DC — John Jones, 26, of Temple Hills, Maryland was fatally shot early Saturday morning in the Ivy City area, according to a police release.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District found Jones in the 1100 block of Raum Street, Northeast, after being called to the area around 4:08 a.m., for the report of a shooting.

Emergency medical personnel examined Jones, who was unconscious, not breathing and suffering from gunshot wounds. They determined that Holmes had died and later transported his body to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.

Anyone with information about Jones' death is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may be submitted via the department's text tip line by texting a message to 50411.
