Suspect Charged In March 14 Fatal Stabbing Of Silver Spring Man In Shaw District

Homicide detectives charged an Upper Marlboro man in the March 14 fatal stabbing of Kenneth Thomas Jr. in the Shaw District.

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives arrested 36-year-old Michael Dolson, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, on Tuesday for the fatal stabbing of 42-year-old Kenneth Thomas Jr. of Silver Spring, Maryland, according to a police release.

Thomas was found suffering from an apparent stab wound around 1:03 a.m., on March 14, in the 1900 block of 9th Street, Northwest. Thomas was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries, but he later died.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant on Tuesday, members of the Criminal Investigations Division’s Fugitive Unit took Dolson to the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch, where he was charged with second degree murder while armed.
