MD Man Dies Following Kenilworth Shooting Incident: Police

An Adelphi, Maryland man succumbed to injuries he received during a Nov. 18 shooting incident in Kenilworth.

WASHINGTON, DC — An Adelphi, Maryland man who was shot last Wednesday in Kenilworth succumbed to his injuries Monday, making him the victim in a homicide investigation, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release. MPD identified the victim as 48-year-old Elias Flores.

Around 1:50 p.m., police say a man entered a residence under construction in the 1600 block of Olive Street, N.E. After brandishing a firearm, he fired a shot at the Flores. The man then took property from the residence and fled the scene. Flores was transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Homicide detectives are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect in this case, who was captured on the following surveillance photos:

Anyone who can identify the individual in these photos or has information about this case is asked to call 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a crime committed in the District.
